Catholic Pedophile Problem

Why is it so unique to them? My guess is its to do with their centralised command structure.

Also: why are they so unwilling to talk about it?
The worst part of the scandal was the cover-up effort by the church. Can catholics here really be so stupid as to make the same mistake?

First!

It's going to take some time to get used to this format, but I like it. I just hope we can avoid all the mud flinging and whatnot that happens over on 8chan. I'll definitely be praying for the site and its owners.

Is anyone a born-again Christian on this board? Did you ever fall out of religion? What inspired you to come back and how did you prepare yourself to be welcomed back to God's kingdom?

After trying to understand Roman Catholicism in her glory, I came to view it as some sort of substitutionary messianic Judaism and replaced the new with a improved old. Instead of the holy location on earth abiding in Israel, Catholics have Rome. Rather than following the law given Moses, catholics exchange it with the catechism. Instead of Christ directly, a vicar(which means substitute) of Christ. Rejecting the Talmud with "apostolic" tradition in its place. Not providing sufficient grace that is given by Christ, but seeking temporary grace by the means of sacraments. Perceiving a rebirth of the spirit as an opportunity, than being born of an inheritance in the kingdom, because our new Father is a citizen of the kingdom.
It also seems to me that Rome is trying to find other messiahs in the NT, She trying so hard to highlight St.Peter and blessed Mary when it all about Christ Himself. The most church fathers understand the "rock" in Matthew 16:18 as a confession. Originally the title theotokos was mainly fixating the nature of Jesus, not an adoration to Mary herself.
The growing separation between Protestants and Catholics, I believe, can be explained in Acts 22:25-28 where Roman Catholicism is the honorable centurion and the position of Paul is Protestantism (although, I'm not saying anyone being tortured).

>But as he was being tied with the thongs, Paul said to the centurion who stood by, "Is it lawful for you to scourge a man who is a Roman and uncondemned?"
>Now when the centurion heard this, he went and reported it to the chief captain, saying, "Do you realize what you are about to do? For this man is a Roman." And when the chief captain came up, he said to him, "Tell me, are you a Roman?" And he said, "Yes." And the chief captain answered, "With a great sum of money I bought this citizenship." And Paul said, "But indeed, I was born free"
